Caught in the cross-hairs of Chris ‘Obama gives me a tingle up my leg’ Matthews, Michelle Bachmann repeated Matthews’ anti-American remarks after several antagonizing jabs. You be the judge:

There’s a lot that can be said about whether Ayers’ opinions are anti-American as well as remarks made by Rev. “GD America” Wright. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi jumped into the fray:
Pelosi chimed in Monday while campaigning for a Minnesota Democrat running in a different district. “Bachmann's comments reflect poorly on her, Pelosi said. "It dishonors the position that she holds and discredits her as a person," Pelosi said. (http://www.twincities.com/news/ci_10769091?source=rss)
That’s right, Nancy Pelosi claimed Bachmann’s unintended remarks about un-American activities of Obama associates have now become a sticking point with Pelosi. This is the same Nancy Pelosi who said she would “step in” if Hillary didn’t step out of her rightful campaign for the Presidency. THE Nancy Pelosi that shut off the lights, microphones and cameras on minority House Republicans who demanded an up or down vote on drilling as Americans were suffering under gas prices around $4.00 per gallon--it was time for the House to adjourn for vacation, after all. THE Nancy Pelosi who gave a partisan speech while trying to protect Dems in tight races by obtaining bi-partisan support for the unpopular Fannie-Freddie induced Bailout package. THE Nancy Pelosi who sat at the helm of the sinking ship while pork, such as voter-fraud-connected ACORN, was added to that $700B bill that named them a beneficiary to future revenues.
If history is an indicator, is there any question voters should be concerned about a Pelosi-run House of Representatives with an even more substantial majority in Congress? Some would call the rancor of this House Speaker merely deeply partisan, some would call the silencing of opposition un-American. You say potato, I say po-tot-o.
Recent polls were found at this website in the Twin Cities: (http://electionadvantage.blogspot.com/2008/10/mn-06-bachmann-gaffes-polls-show-race.html)
Public Opinion Strategies (R) MN-06 Poll conducted 10/12-10/13 of 400 LVs:
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R) 44%
Fmr. Blaine Mayor Elwyn Tinklenberg (D) 33%
Grove Insight (D) MN-06 Poll conducted 10/10-10/12 of 400 LVs:
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R) 42%
Fmr. Blaine Mayor Elwyn Tinklenberg (D) 38%
Notice that both of these polls were conducted before Bachmann's interview. I'm not sure this is a gaffe on the magnitude some are claiming, but this nonetheless gives the Democrats another target they didn't think they really had a week or two ago.
Given that Michelle Bachmann worked tirelessly on alternative bills to the $700B bailout and the fact that she was yet another victim of the MSNBC smear-machine, I’m sending in a contribution to Michelle Bachmann to help her offset the $2 Million in attack ads that are planned to unseat her. I may not be a constituent in Bachmann’s district but I’m glad she’s in Congress, speaking for those of us who have been silenced.

Pelosi: “I will step in”
“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she will step in if necessary to make sure the presidential nomination fight between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama does not reach the Democratic National Convention - though she believes it could be resolved as early as next week.”
“Pelosi predicted Wednesday that a presidential nominee will emerge in the week after the final Democratic primaries on June 3, but she said "I will step in" if there is no resolution by late June regarding the seating of delegates from Florida and Michigan, the two states that defied party rules by holding early primaries.”
"Because we cannot take this fight to the convention," she said. "It must be over before then."

Pelosi: Shut off the lights, cameras and microphones.
8/1/08 From GOP House leader John Boehner’s office…
“In a dramatic revolt against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) refusal to allow Congress to vote on legislation to increase American-made energy and lower gas prices, House Republicans today refused to leave the House floor after Speaker Pelosi adjourned the House for the five-week August break, staying in the chamber to speak directly to Americans watching the historic event unfold above the floor in the House gallery. Even after lights, cameras, and microphones in the chamber were turned off, House Republicans were undeterred, continuing to make speech after speech demanding that Speaker Pelosi listen to the calls of the American people – including those coming from whistling, applauding, and cheering Americans sitting in the gallery – for more environmentally-responsible drilling for oil and gas here at home to reduce the price at the pump. Rep. John Culberson (R-TX) defied the Democratic majority by providing live updates on the protest via Twitter directly from the House floor.”
“Members participating in the spontaneous uprising included Reps. Roy Blunt, John Boehner, Michael Burgess, John Campbell, Eric Cantor, Shelly Moore Capito, John Carter, Mike Conaway, John Culberson, Charlie Dent, Jeff Fortenberry, Virginia Foxx, Louie Gohmert, Pete Hoekstra, Duncan Hunter, Thaddeus McCotter, Mike Pence, Tom Price, Ted Poe, Adam Putnam, Bill Sali, John Shadegg, John Shimkus, Tim Walberg, and Lynn Westmoreland.”
“The protest came just minutes after House Republican leaders delivered a letter to Speaker Pelosi demanding that she call the House back into emergency session this month to deal with America’s ever-worsening energy crisis.” http://michellemalkin.com/2008/08/01/floor-revolt-no-vacation-for-house-republicans/

GOP demanding a vote on offshore drilling before Congress adjourns for a vacation. In response, Pelosi shut off the lights, microphonesand cameras. Thanks to a cell phone, someone got a few shots of the chaos.
